Day 7: We Made It!

Well, we made it to Inverness and it was a much more enjoyable cycle than yesterday – for me at least :)

One big climb, the Struie hill in Rosshire, but after that it was plain sailing all the way to Inverness, with a quick stop off at the Black Isle Brewery.

It’s been a good tour. Weather has been excellent and we’ve coped well with challenging climbs and headwinds along the way.

Thanks for the sponsorship. You still have time if you haven’t made a donation yet ;)

Day 6: Somehow Made it to Invershin

Well, that was a tough day. Almost didn’t start this morning due to being up sick all night after eating something that didn’t agree with me.
Finally got underway, but it was a really tough slog. Zero energy due to not eating anything and still feeling pretty queasy most of the day.

Ade did a sterling job of taking the lead all day and just letting me tuck in on his back wheel. Didn’t see much all day other than Ade’s back wheel, so no decent photos today.

Glad I carried on though. Hopefully feeling back to normal for the last day to Inverness tomorrow. Nice to hear that some people are arranging street parties to celebrate the end of our tour :)

Day 5: Made it to Ullapool

Didn’t really wake up this morning, since I couldn’t get to sleep in my rubbish little freezing tent. But when I did sort of wake up it was a beautiful day and I couldn’t wait to get on the bike.
Legs were tired and there were some pretty serious hills en-route today. The first climb was tough, but you settle into a rythym and just plod away. As the day went on I felt stronger and eventually ended up in Ullapool ahead of schedule.

Only 2 days cycling to go and we’re hoping the excellent weather holds out.
