The incoherent ramblings of an overweight cyclist.

Week 2 - So much for the Duracell Bunny!

April 3rd, 2008

Duracell BunnyWell I set out earlier again this morning with enough time to fit in 3 or 4 laps of the Queens Park loop. I cycled over and did a nice easy lap before resetting my GPS to do 3 timed laps. All was going well (except nearly giving some old guy a heart attack while out walking his dog, but that’s another story. All I”ll say is… “Jesus! Ring a f*%?ing bell or something!”), things were felling good and I felt I was setting a pretty good pace.

However, when I finished my 3 laps and stopped to check the time on my GPS the fecking batteries had died. I could swear they were showing 3 bars when I started and they don’t generally run down that fast.

I definitely need a shiny new cycle computer :)

Anyway, I carried on into work in a bit of a stropp which certainly helped get the power down. I’m just glad no poor pedestrians stepped in my way cos I wasn’t about to swerve to avoid them! As for the two idiot drivers who decided (one after the other) to try and squeeze through a gap between two parked cars when I was already in the gap. Plenty of fist waving and swearing ensued. Feckin idiots!!!

I can just imagine the poor guy. :) What were you thinking exercising in a park at that time in the morning?

Ha, next time I’ll just run over his yappy little dog. If he wasn’t wandering right in the middle of the road (and it is a road, at that time of the morning there’s lots of park vans driving about) there might have been enough room for me to pass easily without having to scare the bejeezus out of him.
