Day 7 - Weeks End

No commute again today.

  • Weigh in: 14st 8lb

No training route tonight either but I did cycle over to Eoan’s which takes in about half my normal route.

  • Distance: 8.8 miles
  • Time: 39 mins
  • Avg Speed: 13.5 mph
  • Max Speed: 26.2 mph

I was able to push a little harder as I knew I was only doing about half the distance but there’s still a long way to go, I definitely need to up my efforts in the coming weeks. I’ll put some time and effort into a proper training program this week which will hopefully help me focus on the task in hand.

    I’ve been on the exercise bike most nights since I got here and it’s definitely making a big difference. Haven’t weighed myself, but reckon I’m almost back down to my fighting weight.

    I’m currently on a 60 minute programme at level 7 on the machine (doesn’t mean much). I’m averaging 19mph at a cadence of 80rpm, on what feels like a pretty steep gradient. Heart rate getting up to 160 and working hard.

    I feel in pretty good shape, but I’ll only know for sure when I get back on a real bike.

    Sounds good. We’ll need to get out on a fully loaded training ride when you get back to see just how unfit we really are!
