Day 4 (and a bit) - Deflated
March 25th, 2008I went to get on my bike to cycle home only to find I had a flat front tyre
What a bummer that was after extoling the virtues of my Kevlar lined tryes. Thankfully I’m a bit of a dab hand when it comes to changing inner tubes and I was fully kitted out with spare tube and CO2 inflater thingamyjig so I was quickly back on the bike and homeward bound.
The reason for the puncture?
This (not so) little bugger, or to be more precise, 2 of the feckers!
I’ve got no idea where I picked them up and considering my commute doesn’t exactly take me off road anywhere, I’m kind of stumped. I certainly don’t remember cycling through any rose bushes or anything. Who knows? I just hope I don’t stumble across them again.
- Commute Home: 14mins
Anyway, puncture fixed I made it home with no further problems and managed to get out on my training run. It was cold and dark, I really can’t wait for the light nights to come round again cos it’s not too much fun in the dark.
- Route: Training Route
- Time: 1hr 19mins
- Avg. Speed: 12.7 mph
- Max Speed: 26.6 mph
Quite an improvement on my first run last week, which is good. It certainly felt a bit easier tonight, I think maybe next week I’ll add another loop taking it up to 22 miles.
