Bikely Routes

March 20th, 2008

BikelyBikely.com - Bikely helps cyclists share knowledge of good bicycle routes.

I found this yesterday evening while browsing around on the Bike Radar site and I was pretty impressed with the ‘Create Route’ feature. I’d been messing around with google maps and google earth to create routes before but they’re a bit clunky really, not ideal for working out cycle routes. While Bikely obviously uses the google maps API to do what it does, it seems to do it in a much more bike friendly way and you can drag the route around effortlessly without having to add a zillion and one marker points.

There’s a whole community thing going on around it too for sharing and rating routes. There’s already a lot of good routes been added for the Glasgow area so I think I’ll be checking some of them out in the coming months.
